Shaina is an Indian contemporary artist who choose portraitures and abstracts as her main styles of painting. While abstracts are free flowing and limitless, her hyper realistic portraits are structured. Shaina received training under her mentor and teacher for 20 years. She has been trained in anatomy, perspective, composition, still life, portraiture in water colours, acrylic colours, oil colours and pencils.
Shaina held her first exhibition at the age of 9, displaying over 100 paintings. She went on to exhibit her work in prestigious galleries in Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad and other Indian cities. Her paintings form a part of collections in India, China, Thailand, USA, UK, and more.
By education, Shaina has majored in finance for her under grad degree and also went on to qualify as a Chartered Accountant. She began her professional career as an Auditor with Ernst and Young. Her passion for working with the development sector soon pulled her towards joining ICECD (International Centre for Entrepreneurship and Career Development) – a foundation started in 1986 working for women entrepreneurship across 55 countries and all states of India. Since then, she has worked with a large cross section of the society in the fields of entrepreneurship, health and sanitation, women empowerment, industrial safety, human rights, environmental issues as well as education. Her work has reached out to thousands of people especially in the grassroots of India.
